Improvement and Recovery Planning Additional Information

Back to Improvement & Recovery Planning

We have developed an approach to assisting colleges which is both innovative and successful. The success of our approach resulted in 2006 in the LSC inviting us to deliver the consultant's view at a number of recovery planning seminars during the past few years and to advise them on the future direction of their provider recovery strategy.

We provide support and guidance to the college SMT and to Governors in this specialist area. Our experience of helping other colleges can reduce the time scales involved in developing suitable plans and our knowledge of what is required by funding and regulatory bodies and other providers of finance can ensure that valuable time is not wasted. Our support does not end with the production of the plan. We also offer ongoing implementation advice & support to ensure that the plan has a realistic chance of being delivered.

We can supply references on demand from colleges with whom we have worked to successfully deliver improvement and recovery strategies.

We offer a comprehensive service to a college involving the project management of the improvement or recovery planning process, resulting in a robust, realistic and achievable recovery plan that satisfies all stakeholders’ requirements. All key areas can be supported throughout the process including Finance, MIS, HR and Curriculum.

Our approach focuses on a whole college review leading to a re-engineering of the structure, systems, processes and staffing of the college. We strive to involve the management and staff of the college throughout the whole process to ensure that they have ownership of the plans being developed. Experience tells us that this is essential if the plan is to be deliverable.

Developing a recovery or improvement plan can be a stressful time for all who are involved in a college. It is a period of significant uncertainty when colleges look for advice and guidance. Knowledge of what is expected and required therefore is extremely helpful. We have this knowledge. We have successfully advised a number of colleges on the development of their plan and regulatory bodies themselves seek our advice on recovery and improvement planning matters.
